‘I am Nasrine’, the story of a refugee

‘I am Nasrine’ is a teen drama soon to be released by the company Bridge + Tunnel Productions, directed by Tina Gharavi.

It’s the story of an Iranian teenager who flees Iran together with her brother, Ali, and seeks asylum in the UK. It’s a story that tries to humanize the drama of migration, wihtout limiting it to the political debate.

Tina, an award-winning film-maker, has herself been a refugee. She left Iran when she was only 6. She talked to me about the reasons behind ‘I am Nasrine’ and the situation of refugees in the UK nowadays.

About me

I'm a student at Bournemouth University, MA in Multimedia Journalism.
I am originally from Italy and always had a passion for journalism, even though I got here after a quite winding path.
After studying humanities (Latin, Greek, literature and the such) in High school, I went to the University of Venice to study Chinese and after graduation I spent a year and a half in Beijing, working and studying. I do like challenges..
My passion for journalism was still there and multimedia looked like the perfect fit, so I started my MA last September and this blog is the final project of my course.
